My mum rescued a budgie from an attack of magpies in a car park 3 weeks ago. She has since given it to me. I need some help with identifying the age, gender and health of the bird as I am a bit concerned. It is white with pale blue wings and blue markings around the face. The cere is blue with what appears to be a brown skin on top that is peeling. It has fluffy down on his front and has great difficulty flying. At first I thought it was a very young bird but it has a white ring around the pupil which I read means that it is an adult bird. It has a healthy appetite but does not move around the cage very much at all. It does not make any noises and appears to be breathing quite heavily. At first it's dropping were quite watery and green but now they are solid and black and white. Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |
