Indie Rap
I like the Gym Class Heroes as well. Their first song that caught my attention was Cupid's Chokehold mainly because of the sample they did of Supertramp's Breakfast in America. A lot of Supertramp has been covered and/or sampled recently, and this was one of the better samples I have heard (The Goo Goo Dolls cover of Give A Little Bit is another notable). I think it's really cool that music is taking off in all different directions (among other things, Craig's description of Indie Rap), and yet artists are still getting inspiration from great music from the past. |
