Message:   2000 Guineas - intriguing with the mysterious Dubawi being hailed a wonderhorse. My fears with this are that all the hype is purely as a result of his aptly and conveniently REnamed sire who met with an untimely death leaving this particular 'chosen one' to carry on the bloodline. With longsite, I'd say it was a must that Dubawi takes the 2000 AND the Derby - that would command him a huge stud fee; but I'd love to hear an overly-excited commentator calling in Diktatorial - Oratorio. One last quip on this - being a Scot of Clan MacGregor descent, 'my bloodkine is royal', so... Rob Roy is the family choice.

And what about the 1000 Guineas?! How many punters, (including muggins here!) took early 10-1 odds and lost out on even seeing their runner! Damson? It's a ****ED SIN, more like! This event has caused me to scratch my head and wonder - They ship the horse over to Newmarket a fortnight before the race and then find she coughed? That's a bit like me breaking a nail! It could affect everything and everybody around me! The bookies will certainly have cleaned up, which leaves us all asking what's next? This is panning out well in preparation for bookies to absorb the 'losses' of a favourite to win on the day - but what's that going to be? Shanghai Lily perhaps? Cape Columbine? Karen's Caper? I'm not so sure - It would be nice to think of Echelon or Saoire bringing home the spoils but with things as they stand, I'll save my money until after the final decs. It's only thanks to Joe's Edge that I have any left to spend! (Equally fun calling home Karen's Caper, Cape Columbine for a one - two!)
