for margaret moran...

margaret moran, thanks for all your support! things are much better now b/c my dh is home. here is our story:
a few months after james and i married in 1999, we were stationed to fort hood, tx. b/c james had already served 5 or 6 yrs in national guard, he only had to serve 3 yrs active duty. so that's where we went until his 3 yrs were over in nov of 2002. by that time we had olivia and i was a few mos preg with carson. my family lives in sharpsburg, ga (outside of newnan outside of atlanta). i actually grew up in stockbridge, ga but my parents moved a couple of years ago. we didn't have any $ or any where else to go, so we moved in with them until james could find us a house. he was a microwave repairman in national guard (and i don't mean that kind that pops popcorn, lol!!! . he did the same kind of thing plus tons more communications and repairs in active duty, nothing as dangerous as your dh. he had just started in dec with a new company installing and repairing the bomb detections equip in atlanta airport, but on new years eve, i had to call him in puerto rico and tell him to fly home immediately b/c his reserve unit was going to kuwait. he left in jan and came home the day after thanksgiving. he was so needed in kuwait though, his unit, they were so ate up. couldn't do anything right, really. james earned a bronze star b/c of his service in kuwait helping keep up communications for those fighting in operation iraqi freedom. he established a system of keeping up with communications that was adopted by cent com, a rather big deal, but james is so humble about it, he totally plays it down. but he made a huge difference in how the soldiers talked back and forth in iraq.
our son carson was born in may 2003, but b/c he was breech, james got to come home for a couple of weeks on emergency leave from the red cross. thankfully, carson decided to turn a couple day after his daddy came home, the day before the c-section. now we live in north carolina, in gastonia just outside of charlotte. james works for the same company doing the bomb detections equip and is still in reserves. he is going to re up this nov and going to become a warrant officer. he knows that he will have to go back to kuwait, but we are okay with that. the $$$ is good, tax free . that's it!
