Early Period and Prog. Cream

So I'm suppose to get my period in two weeks, well I started bleeding today. AHHHH!!!! My period is hardly ever uneven! I hope these herbal things I've tried isn't making my endo worse! Last time I got my period 4 days late. The bleeding may only last today, I don't know. But my question is, since I started bleeding today, should I not use the cream tonight, or what? I've only been using it again for a little over a week since the 6th day of this cycle! And the cream couldn't have messed up my cycle, could it have?

Re: Early Period and Prog. Cream

I really do not know Rachel if it messes with the initial cycle, of course a possibility. When I started the cream it was 3 years ago so I do not recall if it happened or not in the beginning.
I thought Melanie said hers took a few months to even out? maybe she will see this note & respond or look up her posts about the cream also.

You mentioned herbs. Are you taking any hormonal herbs? like don quai, chastree berry(vitex) blue or black cohosh that your other Dr. gave you.

If it is your period, then Yes you are supposed to stop the cream. Perhaps the Dr. can help you to get it all figured out.

Did you get the appt.?

Re: Early Period and Prog. Cream

Well I've never had just spontanious (However you spell that) bleeding before, so I think to be safe I'll just count it as my period, even though it may just last today, and not use the cream tonight. So if I stop it today, and it is just one day of bleeding should I still wait 6 days to start it again?
Umm to answer your question Lori. I was using blaock cohosh, and chaste berry, that the ND I saw a few months ago suggested. And I used them for three months, but they didn't seem to help any, so not using those anymore. Basically all I have now is the Prog Cream, and Mulit-Vits, and Calcium. I was taking B-Complex for a bit, and don't really think they were helping any, so don't know if I will get anymore yet. Oh and also the slippery elm bark powder, I was using like twice a day for like a week and a half-two weeks, but didn't seem to be helping much, and just have had too much going on to have to go to the bathroom more than usual, so I kind of stopped it. Did use it like one yesterday, and today though. But yeah thats about what I'm taking right now. And I didn't get to call dr. lam's office today, was just really tired and sick all day, plus my friend was here all day. Guess since it's friday I shall have to wait till next monday to call there!

Re: Early Period and Prog. Cream

Hi Rachel,
I would think if it is just spotting or break through bleeding to use it but if you think it is an actual period, stop it.

I know you have really been trying so hard! I really hope Dr. Lam can put you on a long term program that will help you. Remember it is a healing/hormonal balancing process and even though sometimes it may seem that something is not working, it may work long term. B vitamins are very good!

That is why it is so important to get advise from the expert Drs. on this, who could also monitor your progress and switch things around if they are not working...

I am always proud of you!

I certainly was not diligent to even think of my health at 18. Remember you are so far ahead of the game here, hopefully you will have it far easier than I have because you started so young with building up the immune system, nutrition....

Have a great weekend,
Lori

Re: Early Period and Prog. Cream

Hi Rachel...

Just thought I'd add my experiences... My first period after starting the cream was a little early, but now it's like clockwork. I used to range from every 32-39 days, but now it's every 32 days. :) It's nice to be predictable. Hope it lasts! :)

Just to add a few more cents... I started feeling considerably better when I started the cream, vitamins, liver detox, etc. But what helped me completely cross the line was when I added fish oil. Has this ever been part of your regimen?

Re: Early Period and Prog. Cream

I was actually thinking of trying fish oil, cause it is suggested in almost all the herbal books for endo. But I wanted to give the progesterone cream a few months to see if it will help any before trying the fish oil!
