A 90 DAY ADVENTURE
Hello girls! I know that there are many different faiths here. Also there are many here who have no interest in any of this and just want to stick with the endo info. Hey no problem!! My point? If any one of you would like to start on a 90 day New Testament Bible study adventure together. No challenges!!! just reading on your own.. Oh we may not be healed, but perhaps so many answered prayers in ways that you will never dream of God certainly is creative as I have found out many, many times. What he can reveal to us through his word can be truly amazing It is a book like no other. This is his communication to us besides prayer. Actually I think it is better than prayer If you are interested, it will take about 15-30 minutes a day depending on how fast you read & you may want to take it slow. My husband has a suggested schedule that I could post. If I have no takers, so be it. It is something I have wanted to do for a long time anyways. Margaret I know you are thinking about it! Anyways like I said, I may be crazy to suggest this as you may not have an interest. Why not take a chance in life I say.Nothing to lose but so much to gain Blessings & Prayers to all of you no matter if you answer, join in or not. Lori

Lori, I as well would like to do this. I have never read the whole Bible & feel almost guilty about that. I have attempted to read it from beginning to end a few times, but have always gotten overwhelmed & went back to jumping around reading things here & there. If there is an actual schedule to follow, I think that will be alot easier for me. I agree with Nikki, that can be one of our New Year's resolutions...to complete our 90 day adventure!! ~Brandi

Hi Lori, I would love to do that as well, and I also think that the New year would be a wonderful time to start...Maybe we could then post things we've learned, kind of a forum chat on that--for further fellowship and accountability and whatnot. Thanks so much for this site =) |

Right now I'm reading another scripture book that my religion has, but when I'm done with it I'll start the New Testament with ya guys! I'm always reading one of the scripture books, and funny enough I was planning on reading the New Testament next! I probably won't get to start it till February, and doubt I'll get it done in 90 days with being busy with my new job and all. But I'll still be reading it the same time as ya'll! Good luck to ya all in this quest! :) |

Dec 15th, 2004 - 11:52 AM |
Well I am so excited to get such a response!! I was thinking of starting it Monday, Jan 10th. Batgirl & everyone else, I will be posting a schedule. It is like this though: Jan 10th: Matthew chapters: 1-4 Jan 11: 5-7 Jan 12: 8-10 Jan 13: 11-14 etc..... I will make a new page on the website soon with the entire 90 day schedule & for those who are interested, there will be some bible study questions as an option for you to answer on your own or feel free to discuss it. I think Jan 10th would be a good day to start it seems for everyone, but if you cannot start on that exact day, perhaps you can catch up with us or start where we start & then at the end just add the missing days to the 91st day... Thank You all of you & Thank You Lord! How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth. Psalm 119:103 When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart's delight. Jeremiah 15:16 I will add your names to the page on the site if you do not mind, just so that is sort of a commitment to all of us -oh including myself!!!!I have never done this, my husband has been after me for years as I also never seem to finish. Also it would be great to see all the other names on the page who are doing this together. Just post here any others... Lori

Hi Lori and Everyone! This is such a fantastic idea so count me in! What a great way to start off the new year. I have always wanted to read the Bible, but was always really intimidated by it, so this is fantastic. I hope everyone has a great and safe new year. God Bless, Emmy |

I, like Rachel have been reading another volume of scripture from (I think) the same church with my 6 year old daughter, but would love to read along with you guys. Maybe I can improve my spirituality this year, as I have been falling behind in this area. I have had breif encounters feeling the love of the Lord in my life, but have found that this illness and other aspects of my life have greatly diminished my ability to feel His love. I know that reading along with a great group of women like yourselves can only help me improve on this relationship. Thank you Lori for all that you do for us and the Lord. God Bless you all, and here is hoping that 2005 is a better year. |

Re: A 90 DAY ADVENTURE Hi Everyone! I am very excited about this! Starting Jan 10th. Any other suggestions are welcome. I posted 30 days of the schedule so far, and Thank You everyone who signed up! including the seasoned readers/believers!! Do try to read the bible everyday and for the beginners, read the questions before reading the chapters, so you can be more aware of certain things. If you can - start a journal and do the reading along with writing down your own prayers, hopes, dreams and questions..This can be so wonderful to look back on! You can put a bible in your car for when you have spare time. Read it when you are on hold on the telephone, late nite insomnia...at the park, in pain or sick, when you are waiting for your dinner to cook, you can even get the bible on tape, so there is now no excuse for not having the time for it(myself included) Be creative, the reading is less than 1/2 hr. each day that can change your life!!! Please do not be intimidated if you are a new bible reader. 90 days of reading the bible can change your life!! but that does not mean that you will understand all of it or perhaps you will only understand a very small amount like I did in the beginning. If you are having trouble write here for some suggestions...Any amount of understanding is wonderful and will bring you that much closer.. Open your heart to Jesus and let him in. He is knocking! Dear Heavenly Father, Open our hearts to you and give us understanding for your word. Create in us a passion to know you better and guidance for our lives. Open our eyes to the truth of your word and show us how to rely on you for strength and comfort. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Hello Girls! Hey really sorry about not finishing the posting of the questions on the 90 day adventure page. I am happy to say that now it is finished! The candida detox really got a hold of me and I fell behind on all of life....I did finish the reading, but will admit that Revelation was quite a bit over this head. I think Anne did a great job of making the questions for the 90 day study. Very informative and I learned many things that I did not know before. I will get back to you about another study later. Hi again Krisi, I just wrote you a book on your other post. I am thrilled that you are doing this Bible reading!! I am not sure if you have ever read the Bible before, but I will tell you about my 1st time reading the "book of John" which was only about 6 years ago. I was shocked, shocked, shocked as I had grown up going to religion class all my childhood and teenage years and still attended a church for so many years... Let me tell you, I certainly did not know about this relationship with Jesus! Feel free to ask any ?'s. Praying the Lord will show you things that you will be amazed at! Please Lord bring peace to Krisi in her trials and show her the way. Lori Psalm 18:33 |

Hello, I have found the most effective way to learn is through Bible Study. I suggest the study on the "90 day adventure" page. It starts at Matthew and takes 15-30 minutes a day to read and answer the questions. 3 Chapters of reading a day. Some of it is to reflect on and some are basic questions. I hope you like it!!!!! Feel free to let us know if you come across something you do not understand. Oh you are welcome as this is what does it for me so I will leave you with one of my favorite verses:Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. Psalm 143:8 Have a Blessed day and look forward to hearing from you again! Lori

Hi Andrea and Krisi, I just noticed that both of you are about the same age and starting this about the same time. Sometimes it is hard to stay on track with the reading, so perhaps you two can team up to check on each other once in a while and see where you are at in the reading. It really helps to have a buddy to keep you accountable. Just a thought... Feel free to ask any questions. Please Lord, build a fire and passion for your word in Andrea and Krisi's bones. Lori

Lori
Oct 18th, 2005 - 8:38 AM |
No, not too late. This is really blessing me!!!!!!!!!!!!I have an idea on how to stay on track with this but let me know if it is ok for you girls?:On Mondays, which seem to be the busy day on this forum. I will put a sticky note at the top of the page. It will be an encouragement for you 5 girls that just started this. Andrea, Krisi, Tinkelbel, Shani and Suzanne. It may be from me or some other avid Bible readers on this forum. You can check in by saying what chapter you are on or let us know if any questions. (Please do not be discouraged if you get behind!) A way to try to stay with the reading. Remember there are many things in life that will distract you from this reading....so good to check in with each other. Jill Mary is a pastor's wife on this forum, so she can easily help you with any questions you may have, as I can but it may take me a while to look things up!!!!!Of course there are many other women here also that are in the word!! Let me know if Mondays are good for you to check in. So look for an encouraging bible note next Monday on here. It should be Monday morning. The schedule is on the website with some questions to answer on your own or feel free to ask. Some are factual questions and some thinking questions. Just do the best that you can. If you understand 5% of what you are reading in the beginning- Hey that is something!!! It will get easier as the Lord speaks to you in your lives. Thank You girls again. If anyone else wants to join, just sign up here and meet us here Monday morning. The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him. Lamentations 3:25 Dear Lord, Please keep us all in your word. Draw us closer than ever. In Jesus name, amen. Lori

Hi Lori Thanks. Am looking forward to it already! btw, how do you know God truly loves you? The bible says that He send his only son, Jesus to die for our sins. While I know that factually, emotionally, just doesn't seem to evoke any strong feelings within me, for me to want to really want to embrace the love which He has for me. I know He has done so much for all of us, yet, I don't seem to be able to love Him the way I should be, as a child should towards its father. I feel guilty for feeling this way. Thought I could get some advice from you. |
Lori
Oct 21st, 2005 - 12:29 PM |
Thanks for joining girls! Come talk to us Monday on this forum as there will be a post for you at the top of the page. Tinklebel, What a great question!!! and I am wondering how to answer it as I do not know of your walk with God. I will ask you if there is a period of time or a day when you gave your life to Him and you were "Born Again" Is there a time that you came to Jesus in faith and repentance and then your life changed? Is there a time that you were reborn by the Holy Spirit? This of course is the most important part and I am thinking and praying about my life and how it went with my walk with the Lord. Sorry this may be long! I was brought up in "religion" Oh how I knew the 'facts' Jesus is the son of God, God the Father and the Holy Spirit=One God, three in one. Other than that, I strived(unsuccessfully) to be good because I wanted to 'get to heaven and prayed and confessed my sins... I attented church every Sunday and religion class on Saturday's. I did all that was required in church... Did I know Jesus? NO WAY. Did I know about this relationship that could be had? NO. Did Jesus indwell me? NO. God was calling me many years...as the seeds were planted. I met this man in a bar about 13 years ago. He said to me "Do you have Jesus in your heart?" My answer was " I am_______(a religion)The answer was certainly "NO". I did not understand what He meant, but thought of this question for many, many years. Years later, my husband wanted to attend a church(long story!)I was drawn to it, but fought it as I was the most stuborn person in the world. I fought these feelings that would come over me and I know now that I was rejecting Him calling me towards Him. I refused to give in! Then Suffering and panic attacks.....that left me in the bathtub pleading and pleading with Him for relief. Later one day, I picked up the Bible and read "the book of John" I remember being so very shocked at what I read. This is not what I learned growing up in church!! "I can have a relationship with Jesus on my own, confess my sins to Him and talk to Him with noone in between" This is when I "believed" This verse is so true: If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 2 Corinthians 5:17 My thought life, my desires are not the same, everything has changed about my life. I get together with my friends from the past and oh how I am different. I can feel His love and want to tell my friends about it. Sadly they are not interested. There is also growth in Him. That comes from spending time getting to know him and learning about Him through His words. He speaks to you when you read the Bible but it is a matter of if we accept and believe His words or reject them. I suffered greatly 2 years ago and read more than ever before. Everytime I would suffer, I would bring my Bible to bed and feel His peace and comfort. This is love. I pray Tinkelbel that you will give your life to Him in faith and repentance if you have not. I pray that you will draw close to Him in your trials. Dear Heavenly Father, Please draw Tinkelbel close to you today. Show her what is needed as you know her heart. In Jesus name, amen. Tinkelbel, I would like to also tell you about Jill Mary who is here on most Fridays. She is a pastor's wife and could show us all where the scriptures are about what I have spoken of above. As I say, I do not know your faith or lack of faith and I only hope that I have helped you in some way. Lori

Tinkelbel, Thank you again for bring this question up! I hope it doesn't sound like it is all about me, as I was trying to help you! There are so many answers to your question depending on where you are at... Sometimes a question makes me think about my life and walk and this one sure did, so thanks again! I think back to what seperated me so long from the love of God. Oh how I did not know for so many years.. what God's word said about this. I do remember again being completely shocked when I read the bible. The 1st step which is Christ, that is what was missing!! These scriptures said it so well for myself. I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6 Here is the scripture that popped out at me today as it fit me well: For they don't understand God's way of making people right with himself. Instead they are clinging to their own way of getting right with God by trying to keep the law. They don't go along with God's way. For Christ has accomplished the whole purpose of the law. All who believe(believe meaning entrust, commit)in Him are made right with God. Romans 10:3-4 NLT Ok I will be back here Monday and look forward to talking all of you. Lori
