Prayer Requests -Part 2

Please put in your prayer requests. You will be prayed for!

"Praise be to You, O Lord,
God of our father Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting.
"Have mercy on us, O God,
according to your unfailing love;
according to your great compassion blot out our transgressions.
Wash away all our iniquities and cleanse us from sin.
In Your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. Lord please bring strength in you to those who put a prayer request here. Give them a hunger for your word and a hunger for the truth in you and the power of your blood that cleanses us and makes us yours. Bring us rest. Please guide our lives and ease our pain. All according to your will and for your Glory. Now, our God, we give You thanks,
in Jesus name, amen.
from Psalm 51,1st Chronicles 10 etc...

Mat 11:28 Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

I was looking for a video on prayer, but could not find one, but thought this was great!

Re: Prayer Requests -Part 2

2 Requests please ...

1. My friend, Joanie, and her family are in need of prayer. Her father is dying of bone cancer. They have been advised to call hospice (and Joanie was a hospice volunteer for years). Please pray for the family and for her father's comfort.

2. My husband's surgery for his torn ACL is scheduled for Nov. 15 and he does not have peace about it. Too many people are sharing negative stories, especially about friends dying from blood clots related to this type of surgery. My husband's blood clot is completely gone (praise God!), but of course these stories have him uneasy. And on top of that, things are not going very well with his job. His is under a great deal of stress right now and I worry about him.

Thanks, and know that I pray for all of you too.

Hello ladies,

I'm not sure if you have heard, but there was a nasty house fire in NC this past Sunday morning. Seven students (6 from USC and 1 from Clemson) from SC died. Please pray for their families and the community here at Carolina. While I did not know any of the students, some of my friends did.

God bless,

Can you guys keep me in your prayers this winter. I have asthma and it gets really bad at this time of the year and I have a tendecy to have many attacks. I am sort of afraid to go to bed tonight. I haven't had this fear in a long time. I have a new job and home and cannot afford to get sick. So, please I pray I stay healthy and do not end up in the ER. Many prayers for you all too.

I have a prayer request, for a new addition to my feathered family. I had baby bird hatch last night to inexperienced parents. So far I think the dad is feeding it. I pray that God would give the parents the wisdom to raise this little one, and that he wrap is hand around this small creature and give it strength and love to gorw and flourish. Please pray for the little family.

Please pray for my fiance today as he is having great difficulty with his current advisor. He has pretty much made the decision to switch but this decision will definitely affect how much longer he will need to be in school in order to obtain his phd as well as how long his "work" days will be. He is having a really hard time with how this might impact my wellbeing as well as our relationship. Please pray for guidance as he makes this decision and how we deal with it. Thank you.

Re: Prayer Requests -Part 2

I would like to ask for prayer for a couple of things.
(1) I feel as if I have slipped away from the Lord. I know I don't do things I should do and sometimes do things I shouldn't do.
(2) I also need prayer for because I only have 6 weeks of school left and so exams are quickly approaching. Please pray that I will learn what I need to and retain what I'm learning.
(3) Lastly, I'm having some health problems(endo and asthma) and feel frustrated.
Geez I feel so needy.
Thanks and God Bless

Re: Prayer Requests -Part 2

Melissa- I am praying for you. I can totally understand the asthma and endo. situation. I know that it must not be easy. Espically the fear that arises over us, when we feel the asthma acting up. Mine was acting up some today at work as, I felt my voice start to go. I also, did not have my inhailer, which was even scarier, so thank God that it got better.

Birdie- I am so glad your little bird family is doing better. I am an animal lover and know the fear of losing a pet. I have a bunny that has allergies and I worry about her a lot. It is such a relief when they feel better and not suffering.

Robin- I am praying for your husband's surgery. I hope that on surgery day, he is overwhelmed with the peace and love of the Lord. Also, for your friend Joanie and her family. May they find peace and comfort in the Lord.

Steph- I have been praying for you and your friend's too. I heard about that fire and am very sorry. I hope they are finding comfort in the Lord.

Nettie- I am praying for your friend too. I hope that they can peace in the Lord and know that they are not alone in this horrific event.

Dear Lord,

I offer up these prayers tonight and pray to you that we find comfort in your love. I pray to you that we seek you always in days when we feel like we cannot go on or fear of this world. I ask you to keep our beloved pets safe and healthy and ourselves as well. Please Lord keep me and Melissa safe this winter, as we face allergens or weather which may make us seriously sick. I pray for all those who need strength in you and your word that they know they are loved. I also pray to you tonight Lord, to reveal this hormone imbalance, which has been apart of my life for over 2 years. I pray I get answers to why, I have not been able to concieve and why my periods are so messed up. I pray to you lord that my pain does not come back, and that I stay strong so I can keep my job.
Amen

Amen!
Please pray for me with the candida. Since on treatment..every night for 2-3 weeks now horrid leg cramps that wake me up. Calcium/magnesium helped greatly but still there. Am praying about eating bannanas again. I used to eat tons of them(potassium) and never had a problem with leg cramps, but on a candida diet bananas are too much sugar. I really feel led to eat them again and do not ever recall a reaction to them but will try it out tonight. Could get sick if I am wrong. Will know soon, please pray. Thank you!

I know Jesus...how He provides, how He will bring me forth in joy, but right now I am having trouble seeing that. Financially, I am having trouble, and I would like to begin becoming debt free. Please pray that God would somehow provide the finances I need to pay for alternative therapies to help my pain, and to finally regulate the period I have been having every 12 days. Please pray that God would allow me to keep affording to pay the rent so that I do not have to leave in a time where I feel so sick. Also, I need direction for the future, and strength that I may walk and not become weary.

Re: Prayer Requests -Part 2

Thanks for the prayers for my friend and my husband's surgery.

I need to ask for amended prayers regarding the surgery. We saw the surgeon yesterday and I was asking him questions about how many surgeries he had done/or does, and wondered why I couldn't find any information about him online including articles written about him or by him. He said I found nothing because he has never been sued, which we stated was a good thing.

Well, because I asked about publications, he called my husband this morning and cancelled the surgery and said he will not do it because I seemed to care that he was not published. My husband tried to explain why we ask a lot of questions but he still said no.

I feel really bad right now. My husband doesn't blame me or anything like that and we wonder if what seemed an innocent question to us would cause a doctor to be spooked away. All we wanted was to know that he was the qualified surgeon we expected him to be. I guess God has other plans regarding my husband's surgery.

This has been very upsetting to me today. This afternoon we see the doctor who is overseeing my husband's case (it's worker's comp) and she is supposed to provide us with additional names of surgeons.

I'm not sure what to ask for now. Prayer that I get some peace about this, prayer that the right surgeon is presented to us and prayer that my husband can have his surgery sooner than later.

Please, someone, tell me that I was asking reasonable questions. I don't feel that I was out of line, but if I was, then I should make amends.

Also, pray for this doctor. He is a very skilled surgeon and I'm not really sure why he got spooked. I really think that he is used to patients just going along with what he says. Maybe he felt we were asking him to justify himself. I really don't know and probably never will. I certainly did not have the intention of harming him or making him feel bad. My intention was to protect my husband. It didn't really matter to me whether he published anything or not. I was more concerned because I could not find anything about this doctor, good, bad or indifferent.

Sorry for such a long post. Just needed to talk it out. Thanks in advance for the prayers.

Re: Prayer Requests -Part 2

I ask for help with my husband who is very dizzy for a week now. He is the rock of the family and takes care of us all. Lord please intervene!

Wow Robin, I see nothing wrong that you did! I may be wrong, but I tell you when things happen like this and God is in the situation, I truly believe there is a very good reason for it as so many things like this and changes in situations have come about...

Heavenly Father,
We ask for help with Robin and Abbie's needs that were stated here. We know that you see the big picture in it all, but please Lord if you can help us to see clearly what is happening. Please help us all financially to be able to afford good nutrition and help us with our jobs and paying the bills. It is so comforting to be out of debt-please show us the way.

Help us with our husbands who care for us and are there for us. Bring them more compassion for us. Help them all to be spiritual leaders of the family and to be stronger than ever for us. We pray for all the needs & unknown needs put here. I also pray for great revival in this country and other countries. May the name of Jesus be praised!
In Jesus name, amen.

Re: Prayer Requests -Part 2

Update ...

Lori, thanks for your kind words. Well, we are totally believing that God is managing this because the doctor we saw this afternoon also discharged my husband and is referring his case to another person.

She doesn't seem to like to explain things either and only allows 15 minutes per patient and doesn't like her schedule upset if someone takes a bit longer to have something explained. It really felt like a puppy mill in her office.

My husband is pleased with the outcome because he never really got along with her anyway. She is the one who talked the surgeon out of doing the surgery telling him that it sounded like we were fishing for a reason to sue him. She even confused my husband with other patients and listed names of attorneys who she thought might represent him. We have not yet retained an attorney.

Heavenly Father, please protect the other patients who will see these doctors and please let the doctors we have been referred to be kinder, more undertanding and willing to follow their oath of doing no harm, including emotional harm. Please help us to be understanding and kind to the other doctors. Please continue to guide us in this process and put the right people in our paths.

Please Lord also hear the prayers and needs of all on this board. We know that You already have things worked out. Help us to be patient and ready to accept Your will as it is revealed to us.

Re: Prayer Requests -Part 2

Oh Robin! I will pray for you and your husband now.

Could you guys keep me in your prayers? I feel like if it isn't one thing, it is another. In what amounts to a trial and error process, my naturopath and I are trying to find the right herbal hormonal balancer or combination or whatever, and where last month was wonderful, the month the PMS has been through the roof! The excruciating pain, the emotional nightmare has returned. I can't sleep at night, I'm anxious, irritable, and today it took all I had to not burst into tears. Nothing has changed in my life to warrant such a response! All I want to do is crawl into my bed or huddle in a hot bath/shower in the fetal position and disappear. It has been months since I felt this way, and just feeling like this again is devastating to me. I don't think I could handle yet another bout of crippling depression. I just feel so lost, abandoned, and almost but not quite hopeless. I'm clinging to prayer but it has become that frantic "Oh God, not again? Why me?" prayer.

Thank you and God bless,
Steph

Update with Praise ...

We met with the new surgeon for my husband and really like him. We are moving forward with the surgery with this doctor.

It will be the first or second week of December because the doctor himself is having knee replacement surgery at the end of next week.

He appears mush more skilled than the previous surgeon who was going to need seven incisions while this doctor only needs one. He even does a total knee replacement through a couple of small incisions.

Thanks for your continued prayers.

Re: Prayer Requests -Part 2

To Robin H:

I have read with interest your story regarding the ACL surgery for your hubby. I think God was taking care of you guys!! I had that surgery in the 90's after tearing my ACL playing volleyball. My first doctor advised I live with it since I was a woman over 30.:) You know, us whiny women aren;t very active. I researched and found a great sports medicine doctor who answered all questions and didn;t hesitate to do the surgery in spite of being an HMO. Over 10 years later my knee is still holding up! My only limitation is I can't jog due to cartilage damage.

May I warn you...recovery then was tough. It is 6 months of rehab. But do the physical therapy well and he will have a great outcome.

Lori: I am thankful you put this site together. I feel privileged to participate. It is a bit lonely on the other side of the equator while being under the weather. But with a diagnosis finally, I know what I am fighting, and Who fights for me. Who enters the battle before us. It is fun to pray for you guys! It is more meaningful when you can empathize.

I read this today and thought you might enjoy. You probably already posted it somewhere! It enouraged me greatly.

"If the furnace is hot, let your faith be strong. If the burden is heavy, let your patience endure. Acknowledge that He who lends has the right to reclaim. As you bless the giving, bless the taking. There are times when the brightest eyed Christians can hardly brush the tears away. Strong faith and joyous hope subside into a fear that is scarecly able to keep the spark of hope and faith alive. In times of gloom, when your soul is overwhelmed, grasp the promise and rejoice in the Lord. Although it is not always easy, cry with David, "Why are you cast down O my soul?" (Psalm 42:5) Question the cause of your tears. Reason until you come to the psalmist's conclusion, "Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him." If you can believe God in the midnight of your soul, then you have ten times more cause to rejoice than to sorrow. If you can lie humbly at Jesus'feet, there are more flowers than thorns ready to spring up in your path. Joys lie in ambush. You will be surrounded with songs of deliverance. Companions in tribulations, do not give in to hopeless sorrow. Salute with thankfulness...hope, for you shall yet praise Him."

Hey Ladies,

I need prayer tonight. I had a bad asthma attack at work today, which came on without any warning. I luckily had my inhailer, which calmed it down some. My doctor decreased my medication and it back fired on me. So, I am going back up to 500mg of Advair. I just need prayer that the asthma stablizes itself and I do no have anymore attacks. I was afraid if it didn't get better, I was going to the ER. I am also going on vacation on Friday, so pray that I stay healthy and that it does not act up. Thanks

Hello

Thank you for the time you are going to take to present my requests before God.(1) I am a 34 year old Afrin living in Africa with stage 4 endo. I dont know where to start or how to start, but I believe women in Africa need to know about endo. Please pray for endo awareness in Africa.
(2) Please pray for a life partner for me, I have been single for quite a long time now, years actually and I dont like it.
(3)Pray for my mother. She bought a car from someone, but the seller is failing to give her the registration book. The car is at home, but for her to use it, she needs the registration book. Please pray for God to touch the heart of this seller and everyone else involved. We need closure on this matter so that we move on with other things, it is stressing mum so much.
(4) Please pray for my brother's marriage it is almost at the point where he wants to leave her. She is too controlling and possesive and cannot manage the finances well.
(5) Also pray for a better relationship with eachother in my family. Pray for peace of thoughts, speech at home.
(6) Pray for improvement in my school work
(7) I managed to buy a some land and so would like to build my first ever house and home. Pray for guidance and direction and provision of funds.

I will be praying for you too.

Baegle,

Prayers headed your way. Please keep us posted on your situations.

I agree, endo awareness needs to be increased. I will pray that opportunities for that to happen will be revealed.

Where in Africa are you located? My sister-in-law has some contacts in Uganda who might be able to assist with awareness, but that might not be where you are.

Please pray for my sister and her family as her husband lost his job today. My sister is in a contract position with a company and it looks like she will be there until after the first of the year, unless another company offers her a position. Please pray about that too because the company where she currently works is challenging, stressful and full of politics.

Thanks,

Also, the doctor has left the decision up to us to use his own hamstring to create a new ACL or to use a cadaver graft. We are unsure which way to go at this point, espcially because of the concern of diseases with the cadaver graft. Please pray for wisdom. This will be my husband's 2nd ALC surgery on the same knee.

This dr (procotogist, misspelled I am sure) says he thinks my pain could be adhesions or possibly a kink in my bowel's following surgery. So, he has me scheduled for a colonscopy on Monday....Feeling like when will this ever end...

I am praying right now for the other prayer request's on the forumn.....

Re: Prayer Requests -Part 2

Had surgery Nov. 5th. Felt great until after first period. My abdomen swelled more than ever and after this ovulation, Oh Lord. Why??? Why me? Why all these strange symptoms? The gyno said it was mild-but the ca125 was over 4000 which indicates advanced. Guess they just couldnt see it? And I can''t mail the info to Georgia due to 9/11 and international mail. I hurt and just want to cry. I really felt the surgery would do it. i thought I had the power to make it go away. Lord, my life is yours, but you know I am much more productive when I feel well!! At leaset let me have enough to be a mom and wife.

I can't complain to anyone, and my husband is sooo busy with the orphanage, lower donations at Christmas, and a shortage of house moms. So I am dumping here. Please pray for me, also. I will keep praying for you guys. If I could find someone to yank it all out I would.

This is a depressing post. Ugh...Pg

Paige,

I am praying for you. I am so sorry that you have continued pain and frsutration. I didn't realize that mailing would be an issue after 9/11. Can your doctor send it on your behalf or are all pieces of mail subject to regulations? Have you tried calling the CEC? Perhaps they have run into this before and give you some advice so you can get your records to them.

Praying for you and your husband. Keep your spirits light - we are in the period of the upcoming birth of our Savior who, as you know, desires an eternity with us.

Anytime you want to post, just do so. We've all encountered various frustrations and maybe we can give you some guiding thoughts.

It took about 6-8 weeks for the swelling in my belly to go down. Be patient with yourself.

And thank you for all you do in helping the neediest of children. God will surely reward your efforts.

Re: Prayer Requests -Part 2

hey ladies,

well i ended up not going to the ER, but I made it to the doctor's yesterday. I ended up having pnuemonia on top or my asthma. This all escalated in less than two weeks. If I had waited any longer, I am not really sure what would of happened to me. I could feel myself getting worse and worse and it was the scariest thing I had ever gone through.

So, I am on antibiotics, prednisone 40mg a day, my regular asthma meds, and my nebulizer as needed. I have worked all through this too in dialysis and it was so hard. The last two days, I had to work this week was so tough because I could not focus anymore and my body just wanted to rest.

Melissa- I am on Advair 500/50, Nexium 40mg, and Sigular 10mg. I also have my nebulizer machine Albuterol and inhailer as needed. My advair was decreased about 3 weeks ago, but I had an asthma attack and it had to be increased back to 500. Since, then I was doing well, but after we came back from FL to NJ, I felt really horrible and got sick right away. How about you?

Re: Prayer Requests -Part 2

Hey Andrea
Its a good thing you decided to go ahead and go to the doctor.
I too have had prednisone many times. I dislike taking that because I always feel like I'm starving.
I have an albuterol inhaler and was just given a prescription for Singulair. I have a nebulizer machine. I can't take advair. I took it a couple of times and never did well with it.
I seem to be doing good so far with the Singulair, except I have been having headaches again. I'm not sure if its the meds or what.
I hope you feel better soon!

Re: Prayer Requests -Part 2

Ladies,

I need some prayer please.

Winter is my worst allergy season and I've had a pretty big flare with my allergies that I can't shake. The meds are barely working, I'm not sleeping, keep losing my voice and just feel plain awful. I have been to dr. and it is just allergies. I was worried because my husband's surgery is Tuesday and didn't want to get him sick.

I need relief, sleep, and stamina to care for him after his surgery (ACL reconstruction) on Tuesday. Please join me in prayer. It's been almost a week. Last time I had a winter reaction this bad it took over a month to get things under control. It's the Christmas trees/decorations, winter molds and indoor dust that are getting to me, and even though it is snowing here in Colorado, that is not stopping the allergy cycle yet.

Thanks. Praying for you too.

Re: Prayer Requests -Part 2

I'd like to ask for prayer for my sisters friend Beth. She went over to a friends house yesterday and there was a home invasion and she was shot twice. She is in ICU. She is married and has three small kids, so please also pray for them.
Thanks & God Bless
Melissa
