Advice please

I know that this is alot to share but can someone pray for me or give me some advice about surgery??

I just wanted to share my Aol Journal with anyone who has time.

http://journals.aol.com/dogradar1/SHALOM/.

Also, If anyone out there is a prayer warrior, I need prayer. I really need to get to a doctor about the endo growing on my bowels. I believe I may have intestinal blockage. Sometimes I might not be able to have a bowel movement for weeks unless I take a laxative. Even if I go on the endo diet I have problems having a bowel movement. I just started back on it today after suffering on the toilet all night from taking a laxative. I would do it naturaly but I am still nursing and I have to be careful with herbs that havent been tested by the fda. I have no doctor and I'm afraid if I go to the emergency room they would stick me with any old doctor that has no experience with endo. I need to get checked out to see how bad the endo has been growing, if I have paylps, adhesions, etc. The last doctor that removed my chocolate cyct said that there was so much endo that he couldn't remove it all.He only checked my uterus.Back then I didnt know as much as I do now. He subscribed birth control which left me in so much pain , so i got off and was able to get pregnant. But during my pregnancy, although i felt alot better because pregnancy suppresses endo, I still had the side pain and barley any bowel movements. I told the doct. and she gave me laxatives. Now that its been a year since I 've had my baby, the pain has been progressing.

If I were to ask a doctor to open me up. Which I need to find a good one out here in So CAL, should I have them check my bowels, intestines, maybe get a hysto, and seperate any adhesions all at one time in one surgery? I dont know much. But I am truly afraid that I may develope cancer or that my body will go into fecal conamination shock and that I might die soon.

can someone give a little advice? Thank you.
hi i use to be like that to!

Re: Advice please

Please try not to worry that you are going to die. I know sometimes it's hard not to let the anxiety overwelm us. I too have issues with anxiety. Especially when it comes to my endo. I have had some issues with my bowels. I found out during both of my surgeries that I had adhesions attached to them. That could be the reason your having this issue. I would find a specialist and when they do your surgery ask for an adhesion blocker. This will lessen your chances for more adhesions to grow. There is only a 10% change that they will form again.
My first doctor didn't use an adhesion blocker and so more formed and I had to have another surgery a year and half later.
I will pray for you that you find a good doctor and get well soon!

Re: Advice please

I am so thankful that I got a response.

Thanks for the first reply.Unfortunatly none of that which i have tried will work for adhesians blocking intestines. I'm not sure who it is, but i think its nattie.

Kandi- I will ask them for a adhesian blocker Something i have never herd of. I also need to find a specalist in the area. there are none so far and the ones that i did find are NOT speciallists, they are just listed as endo specialists because they are obgyn and sergins. One of them already did surgery on me and has no clue.

I will try to meditate on what is good. Any scripturs anyone?

Re: Advice please

Nettie,

Try calling a colorectal doctor - and get a colonoscopy . . .no fun at all, but they can see if the endo has invaded the bowel wall or not . . . which will determine whether you need surgery immediately or if you could wait a while before getting surgery. I know if it has invaded the bowel wall you will need surgery ASAP!!! Please call and get scheduled soon . . . Also, when I had my excision surgery, my doc had the colorectal doc on call (even though my colonoscopy showed clear) - just in case there was a problem with my bowel and they need the colorectal doc to resect the bowel. I definitely believe that a good endo doc would take care of all the probs in one surgery. (Try the endodocs group on yahoo to help you locate a good doc in your area.)

I pray that you will get in soon and get the answers and treatment you need. Let us know how you are doing.

Re: Advice please

Hello dear!
I am praying diligently for you tonight!

One day a dear sister in Christ told me of an outrageos thing I believed at the time. It sounded so weird what she said, so I dismissed it! Then next thing I know, my dr. brought the same thing up to me. I did not say a word! I was iodine deficient and so low that it was so bad!! Many women with endo are and it effects the immune system real bad and causes cancer.

Now this probably has Nothing to do with the bowels. I am just giving an example, but the Lord will lead and my experience is not to dismiss some things that sound so strange.

For instance the castor oil packs may work. It is known to help. I have heard it many times here and on another natural site I used to visit, but I do not know if this is right for you, or the surgery or using progesterone cream to shrink the implants. I do not know what your problem is if it is constipation or digestion issues or a blockage. Does it show a blockage???

I suggest probiotics either way also.

Prayer will reveal it, I truly believe. Of course we do not dismiss any medical to check things out either and if something is urgent, of course we will not stop from going to the er.

For the Lord gives skillful and godly Wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 2:6

If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him. James 1: 5

With the aged [you say] is wisdom, and with length of days comes understanding. But [only] with [God] are [perfect] wisdom and might; He [alone] has [true] counsel and understanding. Job 12: 12-13

I pray now Lord for your wisdom from above. You are the almighty maker of heaven and nothing is too hard for you. We are your servants and bow down to your throne of grace for this answer. Please answer Nettie quickly, boldly and in a way that brings glory to you Lord. In Jesus name, amen.

Thank you for your awesome other post that was so kind!!

Re: Advice please

I forgot this scripture, which I must be reminded of myself so many, many times as I do not know everything and my drs. do not know everything.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and rely not on your own understanding. In all ways, rely on Him and he will direct your paths. Proberbs 3:5

Re: Advice please

Thank you ladies sooo much. My husband is very worried for me. I'm sure that after I tell him the hope that you all have given, that he can live in peace again. I will try the hot oiul packs, and any other info that comes my way. I am going to set up an appointment for a colonoscopy. Thank you Amber I really think for my own consence sake I will take that step. I feel so much better knowing that God is using other sisters to encourage me to seek Gods wisdom and paitence, and tocontinue to try natural remideis which I had kinda given up on because of the cost and previeously using them. Thanks again for the scripture and advice all together.

Your Sister in Christ,

Re: Advice please

Oh yeah - Nettie!

I completely forgot an obvious help . . . make sure you drink at least your 8-8oz. glasses of water a day. (And did anyone say to make sure you get enough fiber in your diet? I eat raisin bran and other high fiber cereals . . .but plenty of fresh fruit is good and they also have fiber bars you can eat as well.) Anyway - I know I'm stating the obvious, but maybe it will help too.

Re: Advice please

Nettie,
If you have the means it would be in your benifit to travel to see a good specialist. I have heard good things about Dr Redwine. He's office is in Oregon. www.endometriosistreatment.org
Also the CEC in Atlanta is where I went. That's a farther away from you. Although if you have the money it would be well worth it. Even if you don't it's worth looking into and seeing if they can help you out with the money. Your health is very important so please find the best doctor possible.
I had never heard of adhesion blocker before I went to the CEC either. My first doctor didn't use it (He is also a well known specialist). There is still a possiblity that adhesion will still grow back but it's only 10%.
Good luck!

Re: Advice please

I am really discouraged. I have looked up so many websites to try and find an endo specialist in my area, And to no prevail. I just need prayer. I looked up all of the websites suggested. LA, PASSEDINA, SAN DIEGO, none found. Please keep my in prayer as I do not have the finnances or means to travel to a specialist. Thank you and God bless.

P.s. I am eating veggies every day along with oatmeal in the mornings, my magnesium vitamin, Alive pills, and vitamin C, lots of water. But I still cannot have a bowel. Please pray for me to have one. Thanks and blessings.

Re: Advice please

Hi Dear! I see lots of people have given you lots of advice in what to eat to have a b.m., but have you considered what you might be eating/taking that could be causing constipation? Things like meat, dairy, pain pills, and other meds can cause constipation. Check to see what side effects are from any prescription meds you are taking. And I know that "exercising" can be awful, but try just taking a walk around your house or block...every little bit helps. You'll be in my prayers.

God bless,
Steph

Re: Advice please

Oh, another thing I forgot that "we" often overlook is caffeine... Caffeine throws off our natural body rhythms including the intestinal ones - sometimes causing diarrhea and sometimes causing constipation. Remember that even coffees and teas labeled "decaf" can have up to 13% of the original content of caffeine; so, it is best to drink only water, juice (although watch for sugar/corn syrup content), and herbal teas labeled "no caffeine". This is why herbal teas can count towards your water requirement for the day whereas green/white/black teas do not. Ok, I think that's all that I can think of right now that might be a trigger.

God bless,
Steph

Re: Advice please

Thank you Steph,

I have not eaten any dairy, Gluten, rice, cakes, sodas, teas, coffee, etc. in the last week and a half.

My diet.

9:30- Morning- bowl of oatmeal with almond drink.

Magnesium 500 ml
aloe juice mixed with palmagranet juice.
vitamin C packet
Alive vegetable vitamin
and probotic vitamin which I have been taking for months but didnt know that it was good for me.

Afternoon about 12:00-
Romain lettus with tabouli, hummus, avacado, and all natural no preservative tortilla chips.
Alive vegetable vitamin

excersize five min. because of squizing of the heart. And pain radiation

at 6 ish, a small plate of veggies, chips. Alive vitamin.

So I know that there is something wrong. Because most people wpould be running to the bathroom by now. I just need prayer for a specialist in my area along with the strength to stay on this diet. I hope to go by tonight. If endo is obstructing my bowels which I am almost positive that it is through much prayer then no matter what I do wont help until I get the cause taken care of. Once again I just need to pray about finding a specialist in my area so they wont mess me up again.

Thank you so much for your consideration. I am taking everyones advice to the best of my ability considering I have an infant, toddler and homeschooling an elementry student. God really is carring me through. His strength is made perfect in my weakness.

Love, nettie

plenty of water inbetween.

Re: Advice please

Nettie,
You might have already said this, and I missed it, because I don't always read every post.
Have you had your thyroid tested? -- I think hypothyroidism causes constipation.
Just a thought,

Re: Advice please

Hi Nettie!

I can only speak from experience, and I have "blockage" too because of the endo on my rectum and bowels... (sounds yuccky and it is). laparoscopies they didn't touch the areas for fear of damaging them further.

My experience- Oatmeal bungs me up and I cannot "go". Plus, oatmeal and tabouli have lots of gluten in them. Check out alternatives if you can. There are lots of good gluten-free grains, some to be eaten in combination for maximum fibre and nutrients.

I'm sorry you're going through such a battle with this. We pray for resolution, that God will make a way where there seems none. A great doctor who helps you have hope, and less worries.

so glad we have a supportive community through this website... we all learn so much from each other and have people who UNDERSTAND to lean on during tough times.

bug hug,

Re: Advice please

Hi Nettie,

If you need a reproductive endocrinologist in San Diego I see one that is pretty good. His name is Dr. Sanjay Agarwal and he's at UCSD in La Jolla. I'm not sure if that is the "specialist" you were looking for of if you wanted a bowel specialist. Just thought I'd forward his name along. He runs the endo clinic at UCSD and he seems pretty good, so far I haven't found anyone that I just think is really great. good luck

Re: Advice please

Have you posted on the endodocs group on yahoo to try and find a doc? If you try it be sure to search the archives . . . that's where I made some contacts in my area.

Re: Advice please

I do not know much about the docs, only good naturopath's here if you are interested. It would cost about $250.00 for an appt. but I believe you also need a good endo doc.

I have been thinking about this, but forgot to post about garlic. It does the trick for me everytime. Before bed and in the morning good. If you do not like the taste, then cut some up and crush with a fork and swallow with honey. They say here from this article that pills are good, but I have not had that make a difference and cooking destroys the allicin.... The real raw stuff is best! Before bed is good, because can shower in the morning and usually the smell is gone unless you chewed it.

Also try to add some olive oil to your diet(I cannot remember now if oil was in there, maybe in the salad?)
Olive oil is very good for you, but if you can fish oil. You can eat salmon 1-2 times per week and will be adding tons of fish oil to your diet. Don't give up ok! Will pray now,
Lori

Garlic is effective for three reasons: it soothes, cleanses and reduces inflammation. Garlic is also very rich in potassium which is essential for proper contractions of muscles, including the intestines. Without proper contractions the muscles become partially paralyzed, resulting in constipation. The potassium is also important in the body's electrolyte system. Dice some garlic and take with juice, milk, soup or honey two or three times a day. You may also cook the garlic. Garlic tablets are also effective and can be used by people who have problems digesting raw garlic. Take two tablets once or twice daily for mild cases, three times for bad cases, and up to five times daily for severe cases. The doses should be two grams each. Several cloves of raw garlic eaten in a salad or other food often produces good results quickly.

Re: Advice please

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, all for your support. I finnaly had a bowel movement today. I am trying most all of your advice. I have been struggling not to eat anything bad, especially because there are so many cookies and cakes for LOVELY VALENTINE events. But I have been a good girl.

Thank you so much Becky. I will check into the doctor listed.

Amber I did go to endodocs group but didnt find anything. There where docs in my area but they didnt have endo experience.Thank you though I did find who NOT to go to.

Lori I am so thankful that you and all of the other ladies have been blessed with all of the knowledge to help out. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that its the Lord directing me and helping me to take care of my body. I will include garlic into my diet for sure.
I am taking the rest of the stuff that you and Shakes advised and it is working . Yesterday I was discouraged that I wasnt having a bowel movement and everything was hurting. But I wasnt paitent. I did work out today again for five min. Its small but its better than nothing.

Sheila, thanks for reply. I did have my thyroid checked and there is supposably nothing wrong. But I did read an article that said to stay away from soy concerning thyroid.

Sara D. I guess I'm not checking my labels. I did know that oatmeal had gluten, but I didnt know that it could stop you up. Man food is a difficult thing to work with. But I'd rather take care of myself than to let it all go. I have a family to take care of.

Thank you all for the advice and support, and prayers. I will have to save this page to refrence back to when I need it.

Love, and much thanks,
Nettie

P.s. I will put this on the prayer page also. But If you think of my Aunt Sue, please pray for her. She is in the hospital with anomonia. She has stage four cancer of the bladder and needs to keep drinking lots of water, walking, and eating, but she says she is to tired. But if she dosnt keep drinking, eating walking, she can cause more harm and die. It is looking bad. But She needs asurance of Salvation in Jesus. She said that she excepted the Lord long ago, but I cant say that I ever seen any fruit at all. So please pray that the seeds that where planted by my sister and I will bloom.
Thank you very much.
