Adrenal Care

Can anyone advise me on how to take care of my adrenal glands? I don't have the energy or time to go to a naturopath just now. I am fatigued a lot and sometimes my kidneys hurt (adreanls sit at the top of kidneys)so I am highly suspecting they need help.......

So glad for this forum to swap healing both physically and through spiritual support.

Bit foggy thinking tonight. Sorry.

Re: Adrenal Care

There is a good book called "tired of being tired" that talks about different levels of adrenal fatigue. I got a copy from the library. It was interesting to learn where I fit in the scale and what I could do about it.

It might be worth looking into.

Re: Adrenal Care

Hello,
I also read the adrenal gland book and had major cortisol problems....
The best thing was lots of vitamin C. I used to take up to 10,000 milligrams a day. Also panethetic(spelling?) acid-B5.

I am not sure how these work with pregnancy though? I also always sleep in. That helps a lot.

Love to ya,

Re: Adrenal Care

Thanks ever so much. Your suggestion of B5 is confirmation to me Lori - I was headed out to buy some this afternoon even though we just had a snow storm. I cannot take Vit C by supplement but I'm going to pick up some canteloupe and oranges too. Does it help to get to sleep/bed early before cortisol levels rise in the later hours? If I go to bed at 11:00 rather than 9:30 I seemto have more adrenal rushes at night.

Thanks for the book suggestion Robin!

Re: Adrenal Care

Heaven,
Hey the adrenals also run on salt. I use unrefined sea salt of course, and I thought that you had bought some before. I forgot the details (chelation!!), but you should read up on it.

Re: Adrenal Care

Christy!

Yes I have been drinking tomato juice with sea salt followed by water to correct electrolyte imbalances. This is followed by a bit of detox symptoms for me (increased urination ,fatigue - temporary than better).

Picked up some B5 today and took a small portion. Funny thing my morning cortisol has tested high in the past - how then could I have low cortisol in the early AM hours? Could it fluctulate that much? I am taking horizonal rests in the day and when I do I can hear my heart pound and speed up a bit. Why would I have a cortisol rush when I lay down?

Cortisol is supposed to be higher in pregnancy but autoimmune conditions like endo can cause low adrenal function....

Confused a bit,
Heaven
