depressed and need prayer
Hi everyone, it's a long time since I've put a post on this forum, I feel like you've probably forgotten me. The truth is I've been too depressed to know what to put. I've been doing a residential program for the last 2 months, but I quit last Monday. They've given me till this Monday to change my mind. I left because of the person I was living with. She was loud, messy and everything was a joke to her. She was also a smoker and actively homosexual. She said I hated her because I didn't join in the joking around and was quiet and didn't talk much. If I go back, I go back to the same living conditions, which will last another 3 months. What do I do? I am also sad today because tomorrow is the anniversary of my Mum's death. She died at the age of 42. Please pray for me, I am really confused and depressed. Thank you. Jenny D |

Hi Jenny, I am indeed praying for you. I pray that you will have the strength to get through this tough time. You are very brave to post and ask for help, often asking for help can be the hardest thing. The enemy doesn't want you to ask for help, because it keeps you isolated. But Jesus wants you to share, when you're happy or sad, sick or healthy, totally with-it or feeling frazzled. We want you to share too! I've been on this forum for a couple of years at least, and I cannot tell you how much I've felt supported, listened to, and... even brought closer to God! Lord Jesus, we pray for our dear sister Jenny today. Please shower her in your love. Holy Spirit, fill her with your comfort and give her hope! "So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened...how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!" Luke 11.9-12 Please keep us posted, Jenny, we care about you and want you to feel better. Sarah D.

Amen to Sarah's prayer! We have not forgotten YOU and the Lord has not either! It seems like they may bring you down more Jenny.... You popped in my head the other night Jenny. The other night I was praying for you and so hoping that you were alive! I woke up and there was your post. I have been praying in the meantime on what to say. You know Christians still get depressed certainly, but I do have to call you on this as I expect my sisters in Christ to do the same for me!!. Are you in the word constantly?? I remember the years of depression, I had to immerse myself in it constantly and it always helps-his prescense.. Have you seen the Jesus film? You can watch it in any country. http://www.jesusfilm.org/languages/index.html I was also reading in my devotional this morning about depression and thought of the times I was depressed and it was always anxious for the future and the present stuff too. Romans 8 Believe on the promises of God! There is no condemnation concerning the past~ There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1 There can be no seperation from God's love in the future~ Rom 8:37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, Rom 8:39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. All things are working together for good in the present~ Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. I pray that you believe His promises for you and feel his love also and immerse yourself in His word. We are here for you, but you know that he is there for you every second. Love, Lori
