Home sick and in pain need some advice and prayers!!!
I had a lap back on Jan 23. The doctor said that he removed a bunch of endo growth from my left side. The pain that I am feeling is on the left side. I am having a period I guess. Is the first period after a lap usually the worse? I thought that I was suppose to start feeling less pain. I am feeling sick to my stomach the pain is so bad. I have taken a pain pill which I hate taking to try to relieve some of the pain. It hasn't helped yet. Is it just that my body is taking some time to get back in the "swing of things"? Please say a prayer for me.

I'm sorry you are not feeling well! It does take a little time after surgery for your body to heal and get bk to normal. Sometimes the first period after surgery can be bad. I will keep you in my prayers today! Melissa |

Hello brandfam, I'm sorry you are feeling so poorly, but remember it has only been 4 weeks since your surgery! My doctor told me that most women take 6 - 8 weeks to "recover" but that many do not actually feel real relief (because their bodies are not completely healed up on the inside) for almost 6 months. So just be patient with your body and try to not to get frustrated. I know frustration tends to make me clench up in anger which only makes my pain even more unbearable. I know it sucks having to take pain pills, but try taking some motrin at the first sign of pain rather than waiting until it gets so awful (not saying your waiting, but I do...I often try to just "grin and bear it" only to end up having to take the heavy duty stuff). Make sure you are getting plenty of water, too, because it will help your body to heal. I'll be praying for quick relief though! God bless, Steph |

Melissa and Steph are correct. I had my first lap in Sept '07. Three weeks after the surgery, I was frustrated because I was feeling worse...not better. Then, my period started! I thought that I was dying (even told the doctor that)! It takes a lot of time to heal. Finally, one of the nurses to me that she refers to laps as "minor major surgery". The incisions are minor, but the work than is done on the inside is major. Be patient. Don't over-extend yourself. Rest when you feel tired. And try to get some fresh air (for you mental health)...hopefully, you live in a warm climate :) I'll be praying for you. - Mary |

I hope you are feeling better! I am home due to my pain. It's not fun being in pain. I think we all try to rush our recovery and need to remember to give our bodies the time they need to recover. It's like I had surgery, I'm ready to be ALL better now. But, our bodies need more time to heal. It's hard trying to give ourselves that time, but I hope we can all heal. Good luck to everyone! I'm putting you all in my prayers. |
