Food Allergy Test????

I know there is something im allergic to that i have been eating. My sister has celiac sprue and they tested me for it and tell me its a no, but i want to be tested again that was 3 years ago and things have changed for the worse for me. I have evry sympton of being celiac to a tee! and i my symptoms are and have been getting worse. My GI doctor just tells me not toeat what makes me sick that they are just trigger foods!! Can you believe that, everything cant be a trigger food.

How do i go about getting a food allergy test, my dr thinks i dont have any that they are just trigger foods(i hate that term by the way)and wont give me the test.

what is it and how do they do it. I really think that might help me figure out my diet. Any advice??

Re: Food Allergy Test????

I would definately pay on your own here, if your drs. will not order this test. It is very accurate. I found out that I am intolerant to dairy, soy, gluten here. Please call them and speak to a nurse as that is free to do. They will give you more info.

Re: Food Allergy Test????

i'm sorry Kari that your doc is being so unhelpful! I agree with Lori, you may have to take the testing into your own hands...or find a new GI doc. I thought "trigger foods" and foods you were allergic/intolerant of were the same thing? I'll be praying you find some relief, though.

God bless,

Re: Food Allergy Test????

I had a allergy test done at my allergist office. You can gave a food allergy and the test can be negative and in a few years as your body changes so do your allergies. I use to be allergic to chicken and now it is soy. My reaction is bloating and gastric issues. When I was little I got hives. You are the best person to determine it by eliminating trigger foods and journaling your reaction. Good Luck.
