What are you doing for your SOUL?
I just put in another post asking what are you doing for your immune system, but did not want to forget this as MORE important as the Lord says- Mat 16:26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? Are you seeking the Lord-the one and only God for answers, direction and wisdom? Are you in his word daily and following him by attending a BIBLE believing church where the Bible is the source?(not another book with the bible or not a book from a false prophet) Have you put your faith/trust in Him for your life to save your soul? You will then be sealed with the Holy Spirit.. "In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory." (Ephesians 1:13). Are you in unconfessed sin? Psalm 66:18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, The Lord will not hear. Are you relying on yourself for answers and strength instead of Jesus? I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. Phillipians 4:13 The word of God is: pure—perfect—sure—truth—eternal—forever settled in heaven—it sanctifies—it causes spiritual growth—it is God-breathed—it is authoritative—it gives wisdom unto salvation—it makes the simple wise—it is living and active—it is a guide—it is a fire—a hammer—a seed—the sword of the Spirit—it gives the knowledge of God—it is a lamp to our feet—a light to our path—that which produces reverence for God—it heals—makes free—illuminates—produces faith— regenerates—converts the soul—brings conviction of sin—restrains from sin—is spiritual food—is infallible— inerrant—irrevocable—it searches the heart and mind—produces life—defeats Satan—proves truth—refutes error—is holy—equips for every good work—is the Word of the living God (Psa. 119:9-11, 38, 105, 130, 133, 160; Psa. 19:7-11; Psa. 111:7-8; Isa. 40:8; Eph. 5:26; 2 Tim. 3:15-17; Jer. 5:14, 23:29; Matt. 13:18-23; Eph. 6:17; Psa. 107:20; Titus 2:5; 1 Pet. 1:23, 2:2; Acts 20:32; John 8:32, 10:35, 17:17). How to know if you have eternal life: 1John 5:13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may KNOW that you have eternal life, and that you may [continue to] believe in the name of the Son of God. http://www.theendoclub.com/donotread.htm Love to all of you, Lori

Ok, I don't think my last response posted. I'll try this again. Thank you for such a poignant reminder! Often times it is hard for me to remember God when things are bad other than to be angry at Him. By the way, do you have any ideas/ways/thoughts on how to deal with anger? It seems that lately I've been angry at everybody for being so healthy when I am not and especially angry at God for putting me into this position. I still read His word and pray during my quiet time but I feel like my heart just isn't in it. But thank you for the reminder about how much more important our souls are compared to our earthly bodies. God bless you for all you do, Steph |

Hello Steph! God Bless you too! The only way I can hope to help with this is by giving my experience. I hope that you do not mind, because sometimes I can go on and on. I went through so many years of inwardly being mad at people for taking for granted their good health and for them not understanding how bad my health was. I guess that many things finally changed because of more of a perspective I had from growing in the word which led to perceiving things differently. I understand now that so many people are suffering in this world far worse than I am. There are people who do not have Christ and this brings hopelessness/despair. There are people who it seems on the outside have it all together and then you learn that this is so not true-that they are struggling the same as us, just with different issues(learned recently of a woman I knew whom I thought had a perfect life and her daughter is wayward real bad and she suffers greatly because of this-went to San Diego with my family and ran into a homeless drunk man whom we preached to who lost it all, but was a brother in Christ...lots of things like this) So many horrors of this life and it seems each and every person in this world is dealing with something. The ones who know the Lord though can have Joy despite the circumstances and can look forward to eternal life with him when we die. This brings great hope! You know I can go on and on about this, but this assurance that we are His child-sealed with the Holy Spirit(I did not have it most of my life..) can bring great hope, bring the gratitude for what he has done for us on the cross. This brings to me a perspective and the bigger picture. Also scripture tells us that he uses the weak. Asking Him to use us can bring great joy admist the suffering. That the suffering has a real meaning to it to bring others to the Lord. To know that the Holy spirit resides in those who are His who believe in the message of the cross. This can help take away the emotional pain and take away the anger at the Lord for not healing us supernaturally/immedietly. He suffered far more than us on the cross. Also His presence is unbelievable!! Just knowing that he is at my side takes the emotional pain away. This relationship with Him when he reveals himself in supernatural ways. Example" Last night at church our pastor was upset because another pastor at church is dying of a brain tumor, so the service turned into more of a prayer meeting. He shared with us how he was upset and needed encouragement from the Lord as he sat in his chair early morn. It was still dark outside as he heard tapping at the window and then another window and then another. He got out his flashlight and was a bit freaked out and saw nothing, but opened the window and in flew a sparrow which went to him and on his palm of his hand. He wrapped it in his blanket and it sat on his lap for 1/2 an hour where the bird slept. Our pastor then put the bird outside and the bird flew off. He knew it was encouragement from the Lord as scripture says- Mat 10:29 Not even a sparrow, worth only half a penny, can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. and the other scriptures how he cares for us... For me all of these types of things take away the anger at Him and at others. Heavenly Father, I ask you Lord today to bring encouragement to Steph, to show her your deep love for her. Bring her something that can show a greater perspective for the pain in her life. Please bring a passion for your word today and speak to her ever so boldly. I thank you in advance for what you will do for her. In Jesus name, amen. Here are some scriptures I have remembered through the years about using the weak-us! Act 4:13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. Exd 4:10 And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I [am] not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I [am] slow of speech, and of a slow tongue. 1Cr 1:26-28 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, [are called]: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, [yea], and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence. So he uses the weak and nothing in life is better than being used by Him. Just ask him ok and take his leading to where he wants to take you in this life through the pain, but ask Him to take away the pain. The joy I believe which comes from the word of God is hard to explain. Knowing that he is speaking to us personally through the word as it is his love letter to us. Reading it praying Lord speak to me!!!(I cry out many times)I want to hear from you! And he does. That bring such complete Joy and overrides all else-His peace. Romans 8:28-29 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son... "Probably the greatest benefit to suffering in the life of the believer is that it produces a deeper intimacy with God." This statement somebody wrote is so true if we let it. I certainly am not saying that I am better than anyone or closer to Christ than anyone, but suffering has done a great thing in my life. My husbands friend who used to teach a bible study where I did not understand a thing a few years ago said to my husband the other day" Wow, I would love to have a faith like that, but I do not want to go through the suffering" I was so very shocked that he said this about me as he used to teach me and I thought he was a man of great faith.... Being in the word, crying out for answers, sitting at the foot of the cross spiritually that is and suffering can bring great things-not that I want the suffering!!!!!!!!!!!! amen!!! Yes, this was long. I will pray now for ya dear. Love, Lori
