420 & the IMMUNE SYSTEM! & off topics things
Hello, Some of this may be off topic certainly and I have been praying about posting it or not and since it keeps coming up, I will. First of all, I am a former pot smoker. Now that I am alive and made new in Christ, well we all know that all is in the past! Therefore if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation; the old has passed away, behold, the new has come! 2 Cor 5:17 (RSV) Did you know that marijuana use weakens the immune system greatly? It makes the white blood cells 35-40% less effective than normal! When we were in San Diego for my husband's drs. appt, I was in a bit of a shock. The "San Diego" hotel magazine was filled with about 30 adds for medical marijuana. I knew about this, but did not know that there were certain areas that actually advertised it. Well anyone taking it medically is certainly going to be in a heap of trouble as this will greatly effect any chances of actual healing. Believe me for nausea, there are greater natural thing like ginger(I do not think anyone in the world had worse nausea than I did detoxing from candida...so cancer patients, please if you are reading, there are far better things) So for those of you who have teenager kids, nephews, neices, cousins-watch out! It is in your church group. I know because there was a large group at our camp retreat who snuck out...including me when I was a teenager(I was not "born again" at the time) My son just had a birthday party where a few really nice boys came over from church whom I thought were "born again" Not for me to judge or not if they were or were not. But on the way home a bag of pot fell out of my son's friends pocket. Then 2 days ago, my son was at another boys house from church and told me that this boy also smokes pot. Wow, I was so surprised. Well this is when I just found out about 420-code word for potsmokers. It is also the day that many get together to smoke all day-april 20th of each year. Please parents, be aware! Thanks to the Lord through prayer that all is revealed and we can talk to our son about these things. My son is very sad for his friends and we are praying for them. I also wanted to mention how drug use as this leads to an OPEN DOOR for satan. Man is that one so true as I experienced and as I see my younger brother go through... So anyways, I just thought perhaps that this info may be of benefit to some reader out there. Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21) The word translated "sorcery" is the Greek word pharmakeia,4 from which we get the English word "pharmacy." , so that does refer to drugs too.. But let's not forget about Gods forgiveness & NO CONDEMNATION through Christ! : [All] are justified and made upright and in right standing with God, freely and gratuitously by His grace (His unmerited favor and mercy), through the redemption which is [provided] in Christ Jesus. Lori - I have to say thanks for this info. . . it may seem off topic, but it is so helpful to me (and probably anyone) who works with the youth in their church . . . Also, to anyone with kids. . . Mine are still small, but I know it could be all too helpful with them at some point as well. Anyway, thanks for posting it! Amber |
