Endo

hi ladies,

just found this site today. i had surgery last october for endo. But i still have serious pains/cramps during my periods. Pls could someone tell me if there is a way to live atleast pain free and how to improve my fertility cos i know endo makes it almost impossible for women with it to take in, my husband and I have been trying for 4 years now.I would be very grateful for your answers.

Re: Endo

Welcome to the site!!
I understand what you are going through. I was diagnosed with Endo a couple of years back. Doctors have told me that I would never be able to get pregnant due to the endo. I have proven them wrong in a sense. My husband and I have been trying for the last 3 years. I have had 5 m/c in that time. I used to look at in a negative way. Now I look at it in a positive way. I feel that it was God's way of saying that I can get pregnant but that it was not in his plan for us at the moment. I know how hard and frustating it can be. i have also come to learn and realize that I have to stop worring and thinking about wanting to be pregnant and having a child. If you believe in the power of the Lord anything is possible. You just have to learn to let go and let God. You just have to have faith. Enjoy this time with your husbamd. Also, have you talked to your OB to see if there may be some underlying problems such as hormone inbalance or growths. When you found out that you had endo was it through a lap, and did the surgeon remove any growths? Sorry for the long reply. I will pray for you! If you ever need to talk I will be there for you. I know that when I first started go through all this I felt so alone, but once I found out there were others out there who were going through similiar situtations it made it easier for me to cope.
God Bless!

Re: Endo

tanx a lot Lauren,
sorry for your m/c but God that made it happen even when the docs said it could not will keep the next one safe for you, Amen.
Endo is rare where i come from so i was first diagnosed with Fibroid but during surgery it was discovered that i had endo. I have never done a hormonal test before and do not currently have a personal doc cos i felt like a guinea pig when all the docs i went to before were giving me all sorts of fertility drugs without trying to find out what was causing my pain. If i knew the little i know now about endo I think i would have let the surgery pass, guess i was in a hurry to help God do His work.
I accept your hand of friendship cos i really need someone that understands to talk to about this thing that attimes i feel as u rightly said all alone

Re: Endo

Hello Esty
For pain relief, I have worked on getting rid of the candida by building up the immune system with vitamins and healthy food. There is a good book called "endometriosis healing through nutrition" but that is not exactly what I have followed. Diane? wrote the book, Mills I think. oops I forgot will have to look on the bookshelp if you are interested.

For fertility, I believe the best thing is to build the body up through nutrition and fight this disease that way...but I cannot say too much because I am infertile. I thank the Lord for that though, because we have adopted 2 beautiful children!

I suggest the progesterone cream also for pain relief. Hope that you are feeling better.
Love in Christ,
Lori

Re: Endo

Thanks Lori,

I have not overcome the pains yet, especially during my periods, it’s so terrible I can’t even stand straight, though I thank God that it starts on weekends. I am due to see a gynae next week. I do not wish to take any hormone balancing or ovulation drugs anymore cos the last 2 times I took them I developed a cyst, I hope the doctor I see recommends something more natural if not I might not go back again and will handle the endo myself. From what I ve read from women here and from my investigations am not so sure fertility drugs help at all in endo cases?? But if any one has a different opinion or experience please let me know. I really do not want to make my hormones worst than they already are.

About the book Lori, I don’t know if I can find them in bookstores here in Nigeria. How long ago was it published, do u know?

I will also try the progesterone cream ( I hope it dosent interfere with fertility).

Re: Endo

Hello Ladies!
I am new to the site. I was diagnosed with endo in Oct 2006. This past year I was apart of a medical research for endo and I am now finishing that up. I was so spoiled by the medication that they had me on that I didn't have to use alternative treatments. I am now coming back into the real world ! I have been doing some research and came across this site a few days ago. I am really inspired by all of you ladies (your advice, knowledge, care, and mostly the love of GOD!).

I am attempting to cut wheat and gluten out of my diet. I am a very picky eater so this is such a challenge. Any advice that you ladies have in regards to this I would greatly appreciate it. (Oh, if any of you live in the Hampton Roads area and know a good Doc , let me know.)

I look forward to sharing and getting to know all of you.

MAY THE LORD BLESS YOU ALL!!
