How bad is it?

I was recently diagnosed with endometriosis, and from what I've read online, it seems that there can be some some bad outcomes from it. How bad is it? I don't know whether to feel okay about it or if I should be really concerned. Is it something easily dealt with or not?

Re: How bad is it?

The thing about endo is that it symptoms, problems, treatment, etc can vary from person to person. Someone with hardly any endo can have severe pain and someone with severe endo may have no pain. Many drs are just not that familar with endo and many suggest meds that can cause more harm than good. Trying to build the immune system and natural treatments are better for you. I recently sounght the advice of a naturopathic dr and praise God I'm feeling better! Lori has some other posts you want want to read on what may go along with endo and on building the immune system.
There are also a few good endo specialists and you may find their webites have helpful info. I don't know the websites but here's some info. There are Drs. Albee and Sinervo at the CEC in Georgia and Dr. Redwine in Bend, Oregon.
I pray God will direct you in the best way for you and give you wisdom. There is always hope in him!
Have a good day!

Re: How bad is it?

Hi Lola,

I'm sorry you were diagnosed with endo :( Welcome to the "club". I agree that endo is so different for so many people. I have pain every day of the month but not everyone does. Also my pain is better and then worse, cycles of 'pain levels' last at times for years. For instance the past 2 years it's been bearable for me but lately it's not. Does that make sense? Some women with endo have no symptoms and some are really in a lot of pain. So it really depends on how you are doing. What helps me is to become educated on endo and what to expect, that way i'm not taken by suprise when a new symptom comes up. Also be your own advocate for your health and don't just trust what the dr's say, you have to do your own research about some of these treatmenents they suggest. some of the treatments are worse than the endo! good luck, we're here for support
