Calcium Supp. causing trouble
Endo sisters, Can you tell me if anyone identifies with this? Everytime I take the liquid calcium I have trouble - sometimes knocked out with fatigue that overshadows me in minutes or headaches, or ear and neck congestion... I am beginning to have endo pain in the 8th month of pregnancy and wanted to get back to no dairy- hence supplementing with calcium but it is not working too well... I do take magnesium with it and additional to it but well I'm confused as to why it is such a detox. I NEVER take it close to bedtime or I will really have a night of it. Anyone here supplement calcium? Heaven |

Hi! I take calcium every day, but i don't use liquid. I take one called "Bone Up" that is good for increasing bone density, and i'm close to 30 and have been on bcp's for too long (not anymore though)... But i find mine helps me to sleep. I'm not pregnant like you, so I don't know. What are the added ingredients in your supplement, is there anything like sorbitol or manitol or calcium carbonate or seaweed? Those can give me the trots too, so i don't know what to say. Could you try another brand or type of supplement? My type of calcium I use is microcrystalline hydroxy appetite. I think i misspelled it but whoops. Hope you get to the bottom of this, Heaven. Goodnight, Sarah D. |

Sarah, Thanks for replying! You know I read somewhere that if calcium is not balanced with magnesium in the body you can get a lot of trouble. Since that episode with calcium I have upped my magnesium at night and substituted Tums for the liquid. It seems the last part of pregnancy requires a lot more magnesium. I know Tums are not the best but I think the majority of calcium needs have been filled. There is a fair amount of fructose (sugar)in the liquid and I think that causes me the trouble. I really have to watch that I don't spike my sugar levels or I get trouble. Thanks for your info Sarah! Love, Heaven |
