First I wanted to apologize for not getting back sooner...normally I am notified when there is a posting on the forum, this time I was not...

The best way to choose a good Therapist is to know what you want first and then contact all therapists in your area to see if they are on your same page..If they seem to be interested in helping you ..if they seem to be compassionate then you can give them a try..If they seem to come across that " I am the Therapist and you are the Client" ..and if they project a negative tone ..then I would walk...The most important consideration is if they allow you to and direct you to feeling your feelings ..then they are great... if they tell you to ignore your feelings....walk....You may need to visit and interview a few before you meet the right one...Go to Group Support meetings and ask around for recommendations..As far as group meetings remember you can go to local support group meetings of al anon, coda and other non profit meetings typically held at church meeting halls...
