I agree, I think irrepsonsible owners should be banned. Like younger kids that want one because they're 'cool' or gang members using them for protection. Ayone selling a pit bull should have to screen any possible owner to weed out all the potentially bad ones. You'll never be able to weed them all out, but you can cut down on them, even though backyard breeders will sell them to anyone with a couple hundred bucks. I dunno actually, but somethings gotta change because its not just pit bulls. Most places that are trying to ban pit bulls are also going after rottweilers, german shepherds, dobermans, chows, american bulldogs, etc... so pretty much any dog 30-40 lbs. or more. There was an instance over a year ago that a pitbull attacked and killed a yorkshire terrier in one of the illinois stores...I also personally had a 12 week old pitbull puppy attack my chihuhua and bit a hole through his ear...This is sad as i blame both these episodes on irresponsible owners....to bad things like this have lead to this....I know petsmart as a company is just looking out for the best interests of all the othere animals in the store and is not neccesarilly trying to prejudice a breed but more the irresponsible owner that might have this breed and not put the dedication in that it takes to maintain this breed |
