Parkinson's

My husband has recently been diagnosed with Parkinson's. He is in a lot of pain and would like to know if anyone out there has this problem. He would like to know how to handle the pain when it gets very severe. He does have some medication, but it seems to have no affect. Do you know if it takes awhile for the medicine to work? His doctor is not from the US and has a very thick accent so it is hard to understand what he says. Just looking for some support for my husband and some support for me as a caregiver and what we have to look forward to. Thanks

Re: Parkinson's

There is often pain associated with Parkinson's. Your Husband needs to explore with the doctor if it is dystonia pain or some other kind like stiffness in the morning, or something unrelated.

I know for me I also have fibromyalgia and so there is not a day that is really ever pain free but I do force myself to move and try to get some exercise of some kind every day. It helps,
