we have a rental application and a property lease form, both made in word 2002. We want certain fields from the rental application to be exported and automatically extracted into specific fields of the property lease, elimintating the need to have to fill everything in again. Is this possible and if so, how?

I am not sure how to do what you want. It is going to take a macro. A good help site to use where you can ask this question to Microsoft Word Experts is askme.com. Here is their page for Word:
