Does anyone recall their dad ever mentioning that he bought a pistol from a Royal Marine?
I was approached by a BP employee whilst on a brief visit to Little Aden from Salisbury in Ma'alla, not long before we withdrew. He had either heard that I owned a Colt .38 or had seen me wearing it.
Knowing that I would be unable to take it back to the UK, I reluctantly parted company with it. We struck a bargain at 20 Dinars for both the pistol and ammunition.
I have wondered from time to time who he was and how he got on.

Hi Vic, I think itwas my Dad who purchased the .38 colt from you. He owned several fire arms, so I cant be 100% sure. Was the colt a snub barrel with shoulder gaurds for the hammer section, so it wouldnt snag when drawn quickly? wait to hear from you. Cheers Dave.
