For those interested in the Mercenary Operations and the North Yemen Civil War that took place in the sixties, the recent release of HMG papers should make this programme an interesting listen.

Thanks for letting us know about this programme,my family spent 5 years in Aden and up country at that time.

What a disapointing programme. Those most directly involved were not even given mention. This could have been an opportunity for some serious reporting but was simply an account of a few old boys who sat in their clubs smoking cigars and drinking their brandy. The BBC should try harder to do better.

Yes it was not thorough enough, totally failed to mention involvement of the americans for example.

American Special Forces were active in North Yemen in the 1960's - including the 10th Special Forces Group.
