Yes, I highly recommend that you come up with your own creation. Learn how magnets work through experimentation and you will know what you can do with them and how they act.
I was able to make a working magnetic motor but it uses one coil to assist in rotation. It was the quickest way to make a nearly all magnetic motor getting the most out of the magnets (at least it would seem consuming less than 1.5 watts). It is not like Minato's motor. It is of my own creation. 1st time I ran the bare bones model I was able to obtain 400+rpm. So I know you can do it and probably make a better one. Go for it!
