This is an essential resource for any serious Hawker Hunter Enthusiast or Restorer, Aviation Historian or Modeler.
This CD-ROM contains a searchable list of serials of all Hawker Hunters built with their known histories and dispositions from 1951 to 2006. Never before has a listing of this magnitude been available and it is the result of many years of compilation.
A brief overview of the development of the Hunter starts the book off and the serials list includes first flight details with squadrons served, Struck-Off-Charge (SOC) and Written Off (W/O) dates. The listing covers all RAF and Royal Navy FAA aircraft and also foreign users of the aircraft. There is much new information listed and includes over 200 photographs of the Hunter, many of which have never before been published.
Included are Pilots notes for the F.2, F.4 and T.7 and an A.P. on Seat spares, Hawker Aircraft Company Documents detailing Contracts and articles from the Hawker Siddeley Review.
For modelers there is a Chapter listing all known plastic models of the Hunter with photographs of the box art.
A comprehensive bibliography lists Books and magazine articles on the Hunter together with web site links.
FREE updates to the listing are offered as they become available to keep the CD as up to date as possible. Buyers will need to register with the author for updates.
The entire contents are in .pdf format for easy opening on most computers. Acrobat Readers are included on the CD-ROM for those who do not have them installed. Computer requirements are for Windows 98 and up.
I have considered putting this book into print, but it would be far too expensive for any enthusiast to buy and would also limit its usefulness (it’s difficult to enlarge books sufficiently to see details on photographs and diagrams).
