I am sad to report on the passing of my grandfather Michael John Osmond Dunford (known to many as either Mike or Mick).
Mike served as a pilot in 98 Sqn in 1954.
The stories I've heard from him and others about his raucous exploits during his time in Germany as a young man and throughout his career in the RAF fill me with happiness at this otherwise heartbreaking time. They were clearly some of the best times of his incredible 91 years.
I'd be surprised if there's anyone left here who remembers him but if there are any stories to add to the mix, please do share.
He is survived by his wife Gillian (Gill) Dunford who regularly flew out to Germany for visits (and parties!), and daughter Kate.
