25th IDA's Akos Szekely and Memorial Day Commemoration at Arlington National

Dear friends and members of the 25th Infantry Regiment:

On May 29, 2006, Memorial Day, we are commemorating the common bonds of the US and Hungarian military tradition and recognizing the sacrifice of Hungarians and Americans in the cause for freedom. In 1969 the American Hungarian Federation established an award in the name of one your brothers, Akos Szekely (http://www.west-point.org/users/usma1964/24925/), who fell in combat in 1968.

Captain Akos D. Szekely received the Silver Star for gallantry in action: "Captain Szekely distinguished himself by heroic actions on 11 September 1968, while serving as Commanding Officer with Company A, 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry near Ben Cui, Republic of Vietnam."

I wanted to send the link to the invitation in the hopes some of you remember him or would want to commemorate his and his comrades' sacrifice with us.
