I was there. In fact I had just got to Hawaii a couple of days earlier and was in the Reception Center. The Hurricane delayed my process getting into a Company but everything worked out. I remember it was around Thanksgiving time. Soon after I was assigned to The Wolfhounds Alpha Company 1/27 Infantry.

I was there was with csc 1/21 c quad tow gunner i was driving a officer around in the middle of the storm. i left hawaii nov 84

I was there, CSC 1/14 inf, C quad. I lived in the apartment building just to the north of the main gate. I had a 69 Camaro parked in the underground parking lot and went down from the 5th floor to check on it. Thw wind picked me up and almost blew me out of the building. After I got back to my feet and up the stairs we waited the storm out in the hallway of the apartment building. I remember those beautiful huge trees that were just inside the fence by the main gate all twisted and broken.
