I am currently doing research on WW II veterans KIA during WWII that are from Shelby County, Texas. PFC Ernest W. Allen was assigned to the 35th Infantry Regiment of the 25th Division and was KIA on September 4, 1943. He was posthumously awarded the Silver Star on January 11, 1944 per GO No. 64, US Army Forces in the South Pacific Area. I know it's a shot in the dark but if anyone knows of or has a copy of this GO please contact me.
