Hi Dale I think that as long as the holes in the fence is samller then the koi it should be ok. one word of caution is that a koi is determained to get where they want to go. That is why you must make sure that the holes are small enough that they cant push them self through. I have a fence in my pond 24 ft long to keep the koi out of the plants The set up I have is working. They line up in front of the fence to find a way into the plant garden. So far they havent found a way in.
