I might be able to help. My mother is a Beaubien descended from the Howe Island family. My great-grandfather was Francis Xavier Beaubien (b. 1863). He married Margaret Rose Anne Sauve from Garden Island. Do any of these names ring a bell? Let me know. I may have some more information.

Jen, I have some copies of some birth index records and also birth registrations from 1869 to I think late 1890's. Will be M's, W's and S's. Will be glad to share.
Thanks so much for your site. I enjoy it. Will ask for patience as I don't check your site on a regular schedule.

Hi all!
I'm attempting to put up birth registration transcriptions for the islands. If you notice any missing ones or have ones to add send them over. I'm starting with Howe Island, as most are related to me some way anyhow, and there aren't as many as Wolfe. Although Birth reg started in 1869, Howe didn't become a township until 1871/2. So before that the Howe babies are in with the Pittsburgh babies and It's hard to say who is who where. So if you have any known islanders for those first few years, please email me the transcriptions. Also note if you are checking these out. The years are mostly for the date of registration, so if you can't find your person, check the year before too!
