Do you have a Thunderbird story for us?

I have owned my 64 Hardtop since 1967 and have maintained it as new ever since. It was completely refreshed in 2002, repainted with base clear in the original Caspian Blue, rebuilt the motor 40 over, transmission rebuilt. I have added a continental kit and 3inch wide whitewalls. I updated the radio, installed a power antenna. I purchased my Ebony Black 2002 in 2005 when I retired and enjoy it especially on long road trips. Visit our website: www.sotbirdclub.org. We have over 300 members and 600+ cars registered, the largest single Thunderbird Club in the world.

Do you have a Thunderbird story for us?

I have loved 1963 T-birds since 1970's .My first one I purchased off a Chrysler used car lot at that time repainted a chrysler white it's original colour Corinthian White. I must admit as a younger person I drove it hard but always kept it spotless with it's red interior. I held on to that car and was now married and into a restoration of that car when one of my friends called me at a Ford meet in the states ,telling me of a low mileage Acapoco Blue convertible. Needless to say the following week we were on a trip to the states to view the car, returning the next weekend to drive it home. I have never done anything like this before so I was very nervous driving back into Canada. Once back into Ontario at 2 o'clock in the morning I felt relieved, only to have two cars drag racing split either side of me on the QEW at speeds of approximately 100mph. Needless to say I froze as I watched the two cars speed past the sides of the car. I had that car for best part of seventeen years winning 1sts at both VTCA Regional's and National's. I sold that car years later with 37000 original miles on it, and at present am working on restoring my 63 M Landau which by all registered M's is the only Caspian Blue produced. God you got to love these cars, happy thunderbirding.

Any comments and/or suggestions?

Look's like a well organized club. Have a son in Edmonton ,maybe I will be able to visit in the future , who knows you might have a second M at one of your meets . Remember not all Birds Fly South !!!!

Do you have a Thunderbird story for us?

I have had several T-Birds throughout my years, however never had a "vintage" bird, shucks. I am now the proud owner of yet another Bird, in which I am completely redoing. My last Bird was a 1984 and I bought it for $196.72. "I signed over an unemployment check for it"
I promptly went to work on it, went through the drive train, and even though it had 200000+ km. on it, everything was relatively tight. I did the body on it, painted it white, called it "SnowBird" and drove it everywhere, rain or shine.
Mu little story is this, my family and I were traveling to Thunder Bay and driving through Saskatchewan, the fuel gauge gave up, well at 3:00 AM in Sask. is bad enough, but not knowing how much gas we had, put us in a relatively close state of panic. Needless to say after sweating bullets for about 200 miles we fueled up as soon as we found a gas station. Anyway we proceeded to Winnipeg and stayed there for awhile when I decided to see how far we could go on a tank of fuel, so off we went, full tank of gas and a 5 gallon jerry can to go. I couldn't believe how far we went. We left the west side of Winnipeg and drove to the city limits of Thunder Bay before we ran out, my Bird didn't let me down then and I know my new Bird is going to treat me like the champion it is. Love my Birds

I finally own a t bird.
I got it from a lady who gave it to me, she told me that it was only a V6.
But once I took it home and opened the hood there was a V8.
I was so busy taking care of the transfer and paper work I never noticed
till a day later while putting on the new plates.

cruising in a vintage car is like turning the clock back to when you got your windshield cleaned, oil checked, and gas pumped, without asking, for free, every time. And, you didn't even have to pay for air.
