It is of interest to note the changes made to the Church of St Francis of Assisi, especially the replacement of the figure of Christ with his arms outstretched ‘calming the seas’, situated above the old main entrance, by a plain cross. The top of the bell tower has also been simplified and carries a similar cross. Sadly the figure of Christ had become a target for attack in the past.
