Hi Khalil,

I think a lot of us miss Aden and its people too.
Memories of relatively carefree days basking in the sun on the beach and playing on the streets for most of us I think.
Days of freedom to roam, so different from now even in the UK or Australia.
I know that I would certainly love to be able to visit there again and hope and pray that one day soon that might be possible to do in safety.

Aden can be great again and I sincerely hope that it will be in the near future.

As a soldier, there were times that were not so good for us, especially during the last six months of 1967.
However,the sadness and bitterness have diminished with time and I look back and remember a beautiful country. Stark, towering, majestic jebels, lush green wadis with every inch utilised for growing crops,the sun coming up over the jebels with the night's mist still lingering in the wadis below,lizards emerging from crevices to seek the warmth of the day.And a people that were generous, proud and hospitable.
I would love to be able to go back and see it just once more.
