Is anyone aware of whether the cemetery at Silent valley is being maintained?
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission are unable to establish whether or not it has been damaged by the civil wars, and were less than helpful when I inquired.
Any information from someone "on the ground" would be most welcome.

Hi Vic, I messaged my friend who lives in Bir Fuqum regarding the cemetery. He wrote back to say there has not been any damage to the headstones and the local population is restricted in that area. The cemeteries in Maala and Chapel hill have been extensively damaged.
Hi John
Thank you for your quick reply.
It's a comfort to know that the headstones, and presumably the graves also, have not been desecrated.
I have wanted to return for many years, but lack of funds, ill health and latterly the situation there have prevented me from doing so.
I already knew about the damage to the Ma'alla cemetery. I believe that that occurred many years ago.
Thanks again.
Regards
Vic
