I wasn\'t actually on the ship, I maintain WWII Amphibious ships websites and I have a large photo album that belonged to CMDR R. F. Dresel for the Currituck AV-7 from 1961-1962 and wanted to find the right person for the book.

Comments:

My time aboard Currituck is some of the only clear memories I have from my term of enlistment.

I was aboard the USS General W.A. Mann, TAP112 from Nov thru Dec, 1965 -- just long enough to go from Oakland, CA to Bayonne, NJ and decommission her. I vaguely remember liberty in Panama City while waiting our turn to transit the canal, but not much else.

My last ship was the USS Arlington AGMR2 from 18 Dec, 1967 thru 1 Dec, 1967. Again, only vague memories of shipboard life but I recall the ship going to Korea during the Pueblo incident and afterwards a trip to Sydney, Australia.

Oh well...

My father was on the Everglades, and I ate many liver and onion meals in the warrant mess when ever the ship was in port and my dad had the duty.
