My first day of work in the Comptroller's Office(coming from a small advertising co. with only 17 personnel), it was like swimming in a big pool of people. But, my supervisor, E.Klinefelter (deceased) was very helpful in showing me the ropes in acctg. Working for 14 years gave me the chance to be close to officemates who became good friends in and outside the office. I had fond memories of Coto, Masinloc Fiesta, seminar held at Balatoc, bowling & basketball tournaments and spending weekends with the young and the mature officemates outskirt of Manila.

CONGRATULATIONS BC for your Centennial Year!!! May you have more fruitful years to come!!! I wish I could bring back the years I had spent with you. To Laura D, Melba A, Leona P, Loy E, Lito T., Marta L. and to those who had touched my life at BC, please get in touch. Smile and be happy.

Its really fun hanging around with those people.

Experiencing that earthquake (I can still remember how strong the computer room shook in all directions); doing plenty of overtime work (plenty talaga!); fun with friends at the Balatoc Staff Mess, including auditors from CHQ; interesting discussions with Edmundo Pastoral of Exploration; and sleepless Manila-Baguio midnight bus trips just to visit the family.

I occasionally visited Balatoc during the years after I've left Benguet. The place has not changed so much, except for the dismantled housing, but most familiar faces were gone. Benguet Corp is its people. To those who've remained to keep Benguet going--continue the good work.

Being born and raised in Coto, all years I've spent there were very memorable and worth sharing to everyone especially to my kids. I had lots of fond memories when I was working with BC but the most memorable was meeting Lorna (my wife) when I was working at MCO. I started with CHQ - Eng'g under Ding Cortez and Nemi Awit, got transferred to MCO - Underground under Ric Dolipas and Rudy Dienzo, then got transferred again to BGO - Antamok UG under Tony Crisostomo (decease) and eventually to BGO - GAP under Sonny Sebial. Para akong sundalo! The company can assigned you where your service is most needed but no regrets because I've learned a lot from it.

Mabuhay ang Benguet Corporation for reaching this milestone. As long as BC has dedicate employees like Roland P. De Jesus and Martha Lucero, it will thrive in whatever business it enters.

I have compiled a number of photo albums since I started working in Benguet Corp. I was able to see the Philippines thru the job that I had, from Balatoc to Malangas, Zamboanga del Sur, with side trip to Paracale, Bicol. Now, I have to pay my board & lodging when I000 go to Baguio.

The sports fests have been a good alternative for unwinding. I played The Women's Basketball where I was the highest pointer, Volleyball, and my favorite, Tenpin Bowling. I had collected a handful of trophies that I still treasure at home.

I still remember when I was assigned in Balatoc Mines alone. Katakot-takot na takutan ang nangyari sa CHQ bago ako bumiyahe. First night ko sa dorm, bukas lahat ng ilaw ng room pati ang Bible and Rosary , katabi ko sa kama. Pero napuyat ako kaya inaantok ako the following day sa work. Second night, pinatay ko ang ilaw sa may lavatory pero ang ilaw sa closet naka-on. Ah, ok na. Nakatulog din pero pagising-gising coz di ako sanay ng may ilaw. The third night, patay na lahat ng ilaw pero katabi ko pa rin ang Bible and Rosary. Until I finished the whole 2 months project, wala naman palang multo. Pero merong akong naririnig na naglalakad dis-oras ng gabi.

Congratulations Benguet Corp.! Up to this time, when my friends ask me where to go to Baguio, I always promote Balatoc's EcoTourism.

Too many to mention, too little a space. Benguet Corp will always have a very special place in my heart as this is where I have formed very good friendships. The experiences have become memorable only because of the people who helped me have them.... The food, sports festival, the out-of-town trips, training, conferences (including the bawl outs), tears of sadness, tears of joy, weddings, births (and deaths)...I guess what I am talking about is being with Benguet is like living your life. As the cliche goes, "those were the days" and there will never be anything like them ever.
