I have a great website for all of you. First of all I have a great entomology page for kids, parents, and teachers who are interested in bugs. I also have a great animated gifs page with great animated gifs. I also have good family based links to other websites such as "The Internet Movie Database" |

Words like awesome, priceless, and magnificent can't praise your site enough. I remember a display of heat lightning when I lived in Boston. This was back about '50 or'51. It lasted about 2 hours with flashes that lit up the area almost like noon on a sunny day. There wasn't any thunder, just brilliant flashes all across the sky. |

I think it is pretty cool that instead of saying "the" you use "da" instead. Your titles for your lightning strike photos rock too, "Da Threesome"? man, you are such a "dabomb". Come out here talking like that, and your likely to get anything you want. Especially from my home. |

Very nice site, I enjoy the site. On my site there is a story about a thunderstorm on Friday the 13th. 1899, a blackletterday in Holland, 3 windmills hit and destroyed by fire. So, Friday the 13th. is well known in Northern-Holland.Your site is great. Thijs |

In 1942, as a 17 year old German girl, I was sent to Poland to work along with other 17 year olds. There had been a severe thunderstorm and a young boy, maybe 14 yrs old was riding home from the fields with his grandparents sitting between them on a horsedrawn cart. Lightning struck and picked him right out of their midst striking him dead. His grandparents were untouched. A friend and I went to the barn afterwards where they had carried him and laid him on the ground. The lightning had entered his body at the side of his head from where it continued on down through his body and came out the side of his pants. Other than these two points of entry and exit there appeared to be no sign of injury. However, flies had already begun to invade the wounds. A grizzly sight which I will never forget. I am 76 today and the memory is still with me. |

surfin and boredom |

my house was hit last year. It blew a hole in the roof and made the cieling fan over a bed burn up and cause the bedding to catch on fire. After I recovered from the stupor it caused in me, and the fire was put out- I discovered more dammage. The strike took out alot of equipment: TV, DVD, fridge compressor, dryer, hot water heater, 2 vintage McIntosh tube amplifiers, a Krell class A amp, a CD transport, one computer, all of the telephones and everything attached, and a pinball machine. After the insurance adjuster left, there was another storm which struck the next-door neighbor's tall pine. The top of the tree blew apart and it blew a hole under their boat trailer and popped the trailer tires leaving a big hole in the driveway. The part of the tree that fell landed on a pickup truck. It also blew up the masonry on their chimney. 2 strikes causing alot of dammage in a week in the same place. Kinda strange. |

Great site! I've been struck once, barely missed 3 times, and just lost all the electronics in my home last week due to a direct strike on an antenna. I am a natural lightning rod... I hope that you don't enjoy lightning close up like I do. |
